This year, in lieu of our usual zucchini boats, we used the gigantic banana squash Lia grew for squash boats. We soon discovered that although they looked cute, they didn't work nearly as well as zucchini boats because they were super brittle compared to the pliable zucchini. Luckily, the girls got to sail them enough that there were no tears when their boats smashed. The water was the main attraction, anyway, and they both ended up drenched :)

Nora started the fun by falling in the ditch, perfectly soaking herself. She hopped right up, without crying(!) which totally amazed us. Later, I discovered that Nora thought she'd get swept right on down the ditch along with the boats!
