It's our second annual Limber Pine hike! We first took this hike a couple of years back, and were pleasantly surprised by our two little troopers. The hike isn't long and it's relatively flat. We decided to try it again, this time with Porter and the jogging stroller. Jared pushed Port in the stroller most of the way. Porter walked quite a
long way for a little guy, but after a while he happily got back in the stroller.

"Limby" is the title Lia most affectionately called the Limber Pine for whom the trail is named.
This tree is supposed to be over a hundred years old. Silly us, this year we
discovered that we had chosen the wrong tree entirely over which to be impressed. The real "Limby" was a good 1/2 mile away from the tree we chose
to sit under and take pictures by! But now I like our Limby better,
anyway. It's got a great view of the canyon, it's super interesting to look at, and it's hosting many
sweet memories under it's shady branches.

| This is a big dead tree that is quite high off the ground (though you can't tell it here). The girls love to climb on it. |

| Jared is so sweet--he knows how much I like the cheesy stuff :) |
This hike didn't end well. We don't have any glowing reports, such as those produced by the first hike. Why? Well, because Katie didn't pack a lunch and Nora, after eating the trail mix and some fruit, was still ravenously hungry. So here's how the end of the hike went down: Nora decided she just couldn't take it any more! Pretty soon, the crying started and developed into the melt-down to end all
melt-downs! She literally walked down the trail for the last 5-10 minutes, wailing her guts out. I am sure any and all who were within hearing distance (which was probably at least 10 miles) were quite concerned for this poor little girl.
Next year, I'll pack a lunch.
