Day 5--
Our Porter boy turned two years old back on May 3. Sadly, there were no lilacs blooming on his bush for his special day. But, we celebrated, just the same!
Porter has understood the allure of gifts from an exceptionally young age, so he knew just what to do with the boxes we set before him. (Still holding that hammer!)
Porter thinks blowing out candles is what actually constitutes having a birthday. He got a practice round before our family arrived, and blew them out really well. (That's because Daddy is so much fun and he thinks about doing that kind of thing.) But when all were gathered, he struggled a little, which was great since we got these outstanding photos! (I love how he doesn't have a neck in them; looks so funny!)
Second to blowing out candles, Porter knows that Grandpa comes over when it's somebody's birthday. Grandpa is his very favorite person on earth (sad, but true, Mom comes in third behind Dad). This picture may give us a clue as to why Porter and Grandpa are such great friends. . . .
That is my very brief synopsis of a great day for Porter. He played till he dropped. . . actually, till we made him go to bed. I don't know if he would ever drop.
Our Porter is an exuberant, determined, out-going little guy who engages 100% in everything he decides to do. We are constantly being amazed and entertained by our boy. He makes life move! We can't wait to see what his two-year-old self brings to the world. We love you, Porter!
